Hi I’m Dr Vee, or lets hope a soon-to-be doctor. I’m completing my PhD in the field Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (know as STEM).

I blog about my experiences as a cis-gendered white woman in science, the fucked up shit, how I cope and what I think about the insular world of academia.  While I aim to be intersectional, my experiences are shaped by my white, thin, western, able-bodied and cis-gendered hetero experiences as well as as my socioeconomic class and sex. My experiences may not be your experiences and I’m not talking for all women.

I write my blog about what I see, hear and experience. It’s a space where I try to make sense of it all and is a learn-as-I-go type thing.

Half survival guide, half “what the fuck?” and half observational commentary, makes this blog 150% more interesting than writing my thesis.

Be prepared for a liberal sprinkling of “fuck”. Fuck yeah!
